The Jesuits in Japan

The Jesuits first entered Japan around 1549 and were warmly received by the Japanese Emperor. The Jesuits called themselves "Christians" and said that they had come to preach "Christianity." Isolated on their island empire, the Japanese had no knowledge of world history.

That love soon turned to hate however when the astute Japanese found out that the "missionaries" were just the vanguard of an invading army.
